Seb Rochford

Award-winning drummer, Seb Rochford is very much in demand as a session player as well as running his own band "Polar Bear" and occupying the drum chair in Pete Wareham's "Acoustic Ladyland".  He graduated from Newcastle College of Music and has since played with an impressive array of musicians including Julian Joseph, Stan Sultzman, Tim Richards, Dick Pearce and Pete King.  Recent awards include BBC Jazz Award for Rising Star (2004), BBC Jazz Award for Best Band (Acoustic Ladyland - 2005) and a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize (Polar Bear - 2005).

"Seb Rochford may just be the coolest looking drummer in jazz right now, and judging from his astounding solo, he may also be a genius" - James Griffiths, The Guardian.
