Juliet’s
sound perfectly encapsulates the glamour of the jazz divas of a bygone age,
with a modern, sassy twist. Sophisticated music for stylish people - Glam
Jazz!

So,
after all the build up and preparation, the last gig of
the tour is over! I had such a great time. Fabulous venues,
lovely audiences and lots of fun. Check out photos from
the London date taken by Helena Dornellas here
and Richard Kaby here.
And
next.... it's that time again for the London
Jazz Festival! I'm performing at 3 venues this year.
A short free taster duo set at Rays
Jazz @ Foyles on Thursday 19 November is followed by
a late night show at 10pm with my full band at one of my
favourite places to perform - the Pizza
Express Jazz Club in Dean Street - on Saturday 21 November.
I'll
also be appearing as a special guest of Dimitrios Vassilakis
and The Greek Gang on Sunday 15 Nov at The
Spice of Life.
Hope
to see you at one of the dates.

time! Apologies to those of you who were unable to get a
copy of the CD after it quickly sold out but you can still
get a copy here. I'll even sign it with a personal message

Happy
New Year!
I
went back to Athens last month, to perform with the wonderful
sax player Dimitri
Vassilakis and his band. It was a little worrying with
all the riots going on at the time but I've been reliably
informed that this was in no way related to my presence
in the city!
In
December I also attended an event hosted by the Musicians
Union at the House of Commons to highlight the deplorable
use of music to torture prisoners during interrogations
by the United States. Like many, I was completely unaware
that this kind of thing even existed. I really hope they
put a stop to this barbaric practice soon.
Thank
you to those of you who've bought a copy of my EP Licorice
Kiss. There are still a few remaining copies of the limited
edition CD avalable here.
And
I've joined Twitter!
So if you'd like to "follow"
me and find out what I'm up to daily, now's your chance!
October 2008
Since
my last update, I've actually been back to Russia twice.
In May I visited Orenburg - a really historic and picturesque
city. It's in the Ural region and very close to the border
of Kazakhstan. After taking a cable car across the Ural
River whilst on a sightseeing trip, I was able to make my
first vist to the continent of Asia (although I never actually
left Orenburg). I did a few radio and television interviews
and then I performed at the opening of a fabulous new jazz
club.
Last
month I went back - this time to Siberia. Novosibirsk is
Russia's third largest city after Moscow and St Petersburg
and home of the Trans-Siberian Railway. I was surprised
at how modern and stylish everything is there. Even miles
away from anywhere I saw people dressed in the latest Gucci
and Prada fashions! I had such a good time and even got
the chance to practise my (very) rudimentary Russian...
But
the big news is that my next album is finally recorded!
It won't be released until next year but I will be selling
limited edition EPs at my gigs before the official release
date. I've also just started a new facebook
page. If you're a facebook user, please join up and
it will be an easy way to get the news on gigs, releases
or freebies first.
In
November I'll be performing once again at the London Jazz
Festival - this time at the Royal Albert Hall. Hope to see
you there!
April
2008
It's
been a long time! Partly because I've been seduced by the
addictive myspace...
So what have I been up to lately..? Well apart from writing
blogs on myspace, I've been busy writing even more songs
and have finally finished getting material ready for my
eagerly awaited third album. Hang on in there - it won't
be long now!
I've
also been playing a few more gigs in Europe. I returned
to the Guru
Bar in Athens in November and after more sell-out shows
was invited back to Greece once more in February this year
- this time to open an exciting new international music
venue called Gazarte located in the heart of the new, fashionable
district of Athens.
And
as mentioned below, I was part of the Stimmenfang
Festival in Nuremburg, Germany in October alongside
top international artists including UK singers Norma Winstone
and Jacqui Dankworth. The band and I played in a wonderful
club housed in the former bunker of a castle that has the
accolade of being the oldest jazz club in Europe. Apparently
the first singer to perform there was Ella Fitgerald! It
was an amazing experience. Our live performance was also
recorded for German radio.
After
2 very successful concerts at the beginning of 2005, I am
returning once again to Russia next month to perform as
a guest with a local band in the towns of Ufa and Orenburg.
I had such a warm and welcoming experience last time that
I'm really looking forward to it.
Bye
for now!
May
2007
I've
been busy writing songs recently and have just about finished
writing the songs for my next album.
Other
news... I made a three-night appearance at a fantastic club
in Athens called the Guru
Bar and am booked to to back there at the end of the
year. Also, March saw my debut performance in Germany at
a university near Dusseldorf. My band and I will be going
back to Germany in October for the Stimmenfang
Festival. Another first was the Isle of Wight Festival
in April. I appeared on the bill alongside some wonderful
artists including Norma Winstone, Terry Callier and Dennis
Rollins.
And
if you're in London on the 16th June, I'll be performing
at the Chelsea
Festival - hope to see you there!

HAPPY
NEW YEAR!
I
hope that 2007 has been treating you all very well so far.
It's been a quiet start to the year for me. I've been concentrating
on more songwriting and practising my guitar! It's a slow
process but I know I'll get there... eventually...
I've
also recently broken into the world of broadcasting - something
that's always been on my wishlist... In December, Ian Shaw
asked me to stand in for him on his regular Tuesday night
slot on BBC
Radio Kent that's transmitted across the whole of the
south east. I had so much fun and I think it went pretty
well as they've since asked me back twice! I'll be on again
this Tuesday 16th January at 9pm as guest presenter with
the legendary Roger
Day (of Radio Caroline fame). You can listen to the
show for one week on the BBC's iplayer here.
